Save Time With This A-Z List of Tools
Thinking of Hiring a Virtual Assistant?
We take great pleasure in minimizing the amount of time that is wasted on entrepreneurs and owners of small businesses. At VA FLIX, we take care of those tedious tasks that crop up in the day-to-day running of your business, so that you can focus on the tasks that you either enjoy more than most people or are better at handling than most people (or both!). We do this so that you have more time to devote to the tasks that you either enjoy more than most people or are better at handling than most people. But what about the world outside of your company? For business owners located in the US, we have compiled this helpful A-Z guide that will save you time in a variety of ways. Don’t worry, we aren’t being paid for recommending these helpful tidbits; we simply believe they’ll save you a ton of time and energy in the long run!
A: Amazon
We get it, Amazon is the big bad wolf, but are you able to state, in all candor, that their business model isn’t exactly brilliant? It just takes a few clicks to place an order for almost everything you can think of (from food to books, and anything in between!). Amazon certainly saves us a lot of time and trouble, despite the fact that we like giving our business to locally owned and operated businesses.
B: Basecamp
Are you interested in having someone handle the building of a new website for you? Or are you just looking for a more effective method to manage the tasks that your team is currently working on? One of the most well-known and widely used systems for collaborative work is known as Basecamp.
C: Codeacademy
Learn the fundamentals of some of the most widely used computer programming languages in the world with the help of Codeacademy, which is also an excellent place to begin your coding education. You may return to the platform anytime you want, and each module is divided up into relatively digestible bits that you can access individually. The fundamentals of HTML, CSS, Javascript, jQuery, Python, Ruby, PHP, and dealing with APIs are introduced and covered by Codecademy.
D: Duolingo
Learning a new language is not only enjoyable but also a terrific way to de-stress and keep your mind off of your hectic schedule. Additionally, it is a talent that is beneficial for anybody who want to do business on an international scale. Duolingo is a fantastic tool for getting started with language learning, especially if you just have a few spare minutes here and there, but of course, learning a language requires a significant amount of effort and dedication. Download their free app, and the next time you’re waiting for a customer to come, on the train, or sitting at the airport, take out your phone and spend a few minutes working your way up to the next level!
E: Evernote
One of the most effective methods for making notes that are synchronized across all of your devices and provide you the ability to do a rapid search for terms not only inside the notes themselves but also within the majority of the attachments they include (including PDFs). Evernote Premium is also offered for free for one year to O2 customers who sign up for the service.
F: CTRL + F (or CMD + F for mac users)
Okay, we may have cheated a little bit with this one, but believe me when I say that knowing keyboard shortcuts is one of the most productive uses of your time. The “find” tool eliminates the need for you to search through all of your papers for certain terms, and the “replace” function enables you to change the existing words to something else. Simple!
G: GirlMeetsDress
I’m sorry, but I think this one will appeal more to the females. Through the use of this fantastic service, you will have the opportunity to rent a dress from one of more than 150 different designer labels. After the event, they will also take care of the dry cleaning for you! The next time you have a night out with your friends or a formal dinner to attend, you won’t need to spend hours searching for gowns since you already have one in your closet.
H: Hailo
The process of calling a cab has never been simpler. You can get a cab within a few minutes by using the app, and then you can pay for it instantly using your debit or credit card. You won’t have to spend any more time looking for a taxi stand or sitting around waiting for the minicab you phoned twenty minutes ago.
I: IFTT
The program “If This Then That” does exactly what it claims it would do on the box. Establish guidelines (sometimes known as “recipes”) that, when followed, will cause certain occurrences to take place. Do you want your Instagram images to be uploaded to Dropbox automatically? Or, would you prefer it if your phone notifies your wife whenever you leave the workplace by sending a text message using the GPS on your phone? IFTT has everything under control.
J: Just Eat
If you’re a gourmet like me, you’ve undoubtedly heard of this website before; but, if you haven’t, it may be a savior if you don’t feel like cooking today! If you haven’t heard of this website before, it is a lifesaver if you don’t feel like cooking tonight! Place your takeout order from among a broad variety of options, pay for it online, and then wait for the delivery!
K: Khan Academy
Khan Academy, much like ALISON and Coursera, is a wonderful resource that will help you enhance your skill set at no cost to you. In spite of the fact that the vast majority of the classes are often centered on STEM (science, technology, and mathematics) topics, they do provide a selection of classes on a few other topics as well. It’s definitely worth taking a look around!
L: Lifehacker
The sibling site of Lifehacker based in the United Kingdom is jam-packed with information on how to improve one’s job life, personal life, and company. Caution is advised, though, since it is really simple to lose a significant amount of time perusing some of the more peculiar writings that are posted on that website.
M: Mopp
Are you trying to discover a cleaning for your home or place of business, but having trouble doing so? Mopp is an app that allows users to quickly and easily hire local cleaning services online. Now that you know you won’t have to clean the bathroom when you get home, you can look forward to getting there.
N: Not on the high street
At VA FLIX, we cannot express how much enthusiasm we have for this website. It is a wonderful site to locate one-of-a-kind, handcrafted items that may be given as presents to people in your circle of friends and family, which is not always an easy task. It’s a lot more fun than wandering aimlessly around the same old stores on the High Street!
O: Oyster card
Even if our headquarters are in the Philippines, we are still able to attest to the usefulness of using Oyster. It truly is a no-brainer, isn’t it?
P: Pact Coffee
I don’t know about you, but everyone here at VA FLIX can’t get enough of a nice cup of coffee. Pact will deliver delicious coffee to your house or place of business on a subscription basis. Choose from one of several different blends, and then decide whether or not you want the coffee to be ground (if at all!).
Q: Quora
Imagine Yahoo Answers with a fair number of IQ points added to each respondent’s response, and you get an idea of what Quora is like. This question and answer website is famous among those who work in Silicon Valley; but, it is also a fantastic resource for obtaining life tips, business advice, or just the solution to your most pressing issues.
R: Rightmove
Again, you probably already know this one, but searching for homes or apartments (to rent or purchase) using this method can save you a significant amount of time when compared to going through the websites of leasing agencies or the local newspaper. You may also receive some quick incentive by boosting your pricing range on there, which will help you get through Monday morning.
S: Skyscanner
Skyscanner is our top choice for comparing flights because of how easy it is to use and how many different choices it provides while doing so. There are many other websites that provide flight comparisons, but Skyscanner is our top pick. Check it out the next time you’re trying to reserve a seat on a flight!
T: Trello
Get rid of those random scraps of paper and the never-ending emails you send yourself in an effort to ensure that you don’t forget to do anything. Trello can help you become more self-organized while while saving you a significant amount of time. You are able to put in coworkers to the “boards,” which are also known as “to-do lists” to you and I. You can also store any valuable links or files to each task, which allows you to see precisely what you truly meant when you woke up at 3 in the morning and added something to your list.
U: Udemy
Udemy is a website that offers a wide variety of low-cost video courses on a variety of subjects. If you are more of a visual learner, then you will probably find that Udemy is far more beneficial to you than merely reading a book or searching through a large number of websites in an effort to get an adequate explanation. Participants cast their votes on each and every class. Be on the lookout for the dozens of coupons at discounted prices that they will send you if you sign up for their newsletter.
V: VA FLIX
Are you seeking for someone in whom you can place complete faith to take care of your list of things to do? Please give us a call right away. (Please excuse the shameless plug!)
W: Whisk
You may easily store the ingredients for a recipe you saw online and have them added to your shopping cart the next time you buy at an online supermarket.
X: Xero
Although it may seem to be stating the obvious, many of the owners of small businesses that we are familiar with like the accounting software that they use, which is called Xero. Forget about calculating your critical company figures manually and using Excel spreadsheets; a cloud-based solution like as Xero (or KashFlow) is the answer you have been looking for all along!
Y: Youtube
You can stop spending your time browsing “how-to” websites. Finding a brief film on YouTube is a lot easier than it used to be!
Z: Zipcar
Zipcar (or City Car Club!) comes in last, but it shouldn’t be overlooked. The cost of joining a car club is money well spent if you do not have access to a vehicle of your own and are unable to constantly depend on other modes of transportation.
We really hope that our guide on how to save you time was as helpful to you as it could possibly be.
